Next Director »Ro Haber is a multi-talented writer and director who is able to deftly span documentary, virtual reality, and commercials to tell compelling stories. An MFA graduate of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, they have been selected as a Sundance Momentum Fellow and Sundance New Frontier Fellow, a participant in the Universal Pictures Directing Lab, AFI’s Directing Workshop, Film Independent’s Episodic Lab, Outfest’s Screenwriting Lab, and a fellow at both the Yaddo and MacDowell artist residencies.
Ro’s original documentary projects have screened at the Tribeca Film Festival, the LA Film Festival, AFI Fest, Outfest, and others. Their work includes the docuseries New Deep South, which profiles young people creating unconventional family structures in the American South, and earned a Webby Award and the Audience Award from the LA Film Festival; as well as Braddock, PA, which examines life in a small post-industrial town. Additionally, they recently directed the finale episode of FX docuseries PRIDE, chronicling the history of LGBTQ rights in America. Ro has also created original branded content including Stonewall Forever for Google honoring the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots, and Celestial for Tribeca Studios x Bulgari. They have also directed commercials for brands such as Mercedes, Spotify, the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, and California Closets.
